Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — Several Sonora High School students are facing felony charges after being arrested for vandalizing Summerville High School Tuesday night.

Lieutenant Mark Stinson with the Sonora Police Department says police, along with the school resource officer Mike Christ, questioned several suspects and arrested the students.

Stinson says the vandalism has been going on all week. The students have been painting their school letters on the other campus´s benches and other property, however he says last night´s damage went to far.

The Tuolumne County Sheriff´s department says the students uprooted 4 memorial trees, tipped over the monument and poured paint on it. Investigators say the damage exceeds $10,000.
