Sheriff’s Office Continues Investigation Into Nevada Woman’s Disappearance
Sonora, CA — Authorities and family members remain baffled with the disappearance of a Nevada woman missing since August 8th.
Lt. George Ruckman of the Tuolumne County Sheriff´s Department says search crews with six dogs, eleven technical climbers, nine Marines from the Mountain Warfare Training Center and a helicopter once again scoured the area around the Donnell Vista overlook Saturday but again came away with nothing.
Family members of 64-year-old Nita Mayo have also conducted several searches with about 40 volunteers from the public. Ruckman says his office is relatively certain that Mayo is not in the area.
An investigation is ongoing and all theories as to Mayo´s disappearance are being considered.
Mayo was last seen when she told friends in Nevada that she was coming to the California side of the Sierras for a day trip.
She was reported missing when she failed to show up for work August 9th.
