Family Of Missing Woman Seeks Public’s Help
Sonora, CA — The family of a missing Nevada woman is asking for the public´s help in searching for her.
Sixty-four-year-old Nita Mayo has been missing since last Monday when she told friends in Nevada that she was going to travel to the Western Sierras for a day trip.
Authorities say she was reported missing when she failed to show up for work on Tuesday.
Officers say an investigation is underway to gather clues from Mayo´s car which was found Wednesday at Donnells Vista overlook on Highway 108 with her purse containing her credit cards and cell phone inside.
Search teams have been scaling back their operations pending the results of that investigation.
Meanwhile, a family member says authorities are planning another search this weekend in a rocky area near the overlook.
Mayo´s family has also been blanketing the area with flyers and searching on their own.
