The Search For A Missing Nevada Woman Is Suspended
Sonora, CA — Authorities have suspended their search for 64-year-old Nita Mayo, who has been missing since Monday.
George Ruckman of the Tuolumne County Sheriff´s department says there have been no new leads since Mayo´s car was towed to Sonora after it was discovered at the Donnel Vista overlook on Highway 108 Wednesday.
Ruckman says search crews scoured the area Thursday with 3 dog teams and a helicopter but turned up nothing. On Friday searchers used 2 dog teams and ground crews, but have no new leads.
Search and Rescue officials say they may go back out in a few days with different dogs to conduct another search, however they feel the area has been searched adequately.
The case has been turned over to investigations and the Tuolumne County Sheriffs Department will be working with Nevada authorities to try to locate Mayo. She is 5 ft tall, weighs 140 lbs, and speaks with a British accent. Anyone with information is urged to call the Tuolumne County Sheriff´s Department.
