Hazardous Waste Collection Day Booked

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — The hazardous waste collection day for Sonora is booked for tomorrow between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.

The next opportunity to drop off hazardous household items will be September 10th. Organizer Mark Rappaport says that although the event tomorrow is booked residents can drop off hazardous items at the Sonora Dump on Industrial Drive during their normal business hours.

Rappaport says they accept latex paint, motor oil and filters, rechargeable and car batteries, as well as many other hazardous items from antifreeze to televisions.

The Drop off event in September will accept a few items that the dump will not, including oil base paint, old gasoline, and aerosol cans.

Appointments must be made in advance and for more information about the materials accepted call 1-800-811-2435.

Rappaport is also encouraging people to take their electronic waste to the Sunrise Rotary Event starting today from 4pm to 8pm and through the weekend from 8am to 1pm, to make reservations for that drop off call 510-351-7511.
