Tuolumne County Sheriffs Arrest Unregistered Sex Offenders

Sonora, CA — Tuolumne County Sheriff´s Deputies have two convicted sex offenders in custody for failure to register.
The Sheriff´s Department says 42-year-old John Freel of Livermore was arrested on Waif Mine Road off of Highway 108 at about 3:30 yesterday afternoon. Deputies say Freel was apparently trying to hide from authorities in the area.
In a separate case, 20-year-old John Day was a passenger in a vehicle that was pulled over on Highway 108 between Hess Avenue and Standard Road at about 1:00 yesterday morning.
Both were arrested and booked into the Tuolumne County Jail.
