West Point, CA — A convicted sex offender is back behind bars after Calaveras County Sheriff´s Deputies served a parole violation warrant at his West Point home yesterday.
The sheriff´s department says deputies went to the home of 38-year-old Richard Lavallee at about 1:30 in the afternoon to serve the warrant because Lavallee had failed to register as a sex offender.
Investigators say a search of the home turned up a shotgun, two handguns, several knives and assorted drug paraphernalia.
Lavallee was arrested on numerous weapons charges in addition to failing to register.
He was booked into the Calaveras County Jail without bail.
