Twain Harte, CA — CDF says a fire that destroyed the top floor of a home on South Fork Road in Twain Harte is controlled.
The home belongs to a volunteer firefighter and no one was home at the time of the blaze. CDF estimates $225,000 damage to the 1500 square foot home, and investigators are on scene trying to determine the cause.
The smoke was first seen by children at a daycare center near the home, which prompted a call to 911. More than 12 engines were on scene and CDF says 80 percent of the home was destroyed.
