Mother Lode Fair Crowns 2005 Idol

Sonora, CA — A 23-year-old Jamestown woman is the latest to be awarded the title of Mother Lode Idol.
Maria Roberts was part of a field of eight finalists, which was pared down to two for last night´s final performance.
Roberts says that in spite of a case of the jitters during the competition, she enjoyed the experience. Roberts picked up $500 in cash among other prizes.
Roberts specializes in rhythm and blues music. Her winning numbers were “Respect” and “Chain of Fools” by Aretha Franklin.
The competition´s runner up was 27-year-old Alisha Rock of Sonora.
