Ordway Trial Delayed Until Today
Today is the day trial is set to begin for Patricia Ann Ordway in Calaveras County Superior Court.
Arraignment on the charge of murder had been moved back from early December until this morning at 10am. She´s accused in the beating death of 77-year-old Ray Shires in September. Shires´s body was later found in the parking lot of a tire shop in Avery.
Ordway is known to have worked as Shires´ housekeeper prior to his death and she´s also accused of forging a 2500 dollar check belonging to Shires as well. Witnesses and evidence against Ordway allege she killed Shires with a hammer, by hitting him in the head more than 20 times.
