Triple Fatal Crash Closes 108, Motorists Detoured

Traffic is backed up for over a mile in both directions of Highway 108 east of Obyrnes Ferry Road at the site of a triple fatal crash.
The accident happened at about 9:45 this morning. Motorists travelling west from Sonora are being diverted from Highway 108 to Highway 49, toward Chinese Camp, onto Highway 120 Westbound. Drivers can then follow 120 Westbound back to Highway 108. CHP Officer Tom Wills says three people were killed in the two car collision . Two of the residents killed were travelling in a Honda sedan and the other fatal victim was in in a Toyota. A fourth victim was seriously injured and is being evacuated by helicopter to the hospital. Motorists are urged to avoid the area of the accident if possible
