BLM In Sonora Tomorrow Night

Sponsored by:

Bureau of Land Management officials will be at Sonora High School tomorrow night gathering ideas from outdoor enthusiasts .

The federal agency oversees about 80-thousand acres of public land in Tuolumne and Calaveras counties. BLM Community Planner John Scull says input from the public is being gathered to incorporate into the agency´s new Resources Management Plan.

The new plan is expected to be finalized by 2007. Scull says visitors to BLM land often know the area better than the government employees that manage it. Tomorrow night´s meeting will take place between 6:30 and 9:30 p.m. in the cafeteria at Sonora High School on Washington Street. Comments should be submitted in written form. The new plan may impact hikers, bicyclists, OHV users and equestrians.
