Calaveras Intersection’s Safety Questioned
A recently completed highway and street project in Calaveras County has some residents concerned about the safety of the intersection.
A 61 year old woman riding as a passenger was killed at the intersection of Highway 26 and Silver Rapids Road last week. Calaveras County CHP Officer Bryan Duquesnel says the intersection was recently repaved, but the stop sign that was ran by the motorists involved in the fatal wreck has been there for years.
Stockton resident Lynda Deshields died after her husband ran the stop sign at the intersection and the car was broadsided by another vehicle.
