The Economic Development Company of Tuolumne County held an informational luncheon at the City Hotel in Columbia on Friday.
The EDC is focused on promoting a strong economy in the Mother Lode. The keynote speaker was Cynthia Thompson. Thompson is a Registered Economic Advisor with American Funds. She offered a 2-part presentation examining economic forecasts and trends.
“It´s important to re-invest dividends, even when the market is flat.”
The luncheon-presentation was attended by a virtual who´s who of Mother Lode entrepreneurs. Investment principles Thompson addressed included: diversification of investments, investing now for the future, re-investing dividends to maximize payoff–even when the market is flat, bonds and the dual potential for profits and risks in the stock market.
