The NFL has confirmed it will stage its first regular-season game outside the United States on October second when the Arizona Cardinals play the San Francisco 49ers in Mexico City. The announcement came today at the annual meetings in Hawaii. ESPN will televise the Sunday night game from Azteca Stadium and the Cardinals will be the home team. The Cardinals rarely sell out at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Arizona. But they can expect a crowd of more than 100,000 in Mexico City against the 49ers.
