Today is the day dreaded by many Americans.
2004 tax returns are due by midnight tonight. The Internal Revenue Service has some advice for taxpayers who have put off the inevitible until today. The government reminds taxpayers to sign their returns before sealing the envelope and be sure to keep a copy of all pages of your return for your files. Postage is 37 cents for an ounce or less and 23 cents for each additional ounce.
Don´t mail your return from a closed post office or you won´t get the April 15th postmark. And for those filing at the very last minute, the best bet for getting that April 15th postmark before midnight is to head to the post office on Arch Way in Stockton.
