Judge Orders Angel’s Camp Man To Surrender Weapons
An Angel´s Camp man has been ordered by a local judge to turn over his gun collection to the Calaveras County Sheriff´s Office or a licensed gun dealer and serve three years probation on firearms charges.
A jury convicted Richard Wilmshurst last week in Superior court for having a machine gun and nine assault rifles in violation of state law.
Wilmshurst is also prohibited from possessing or using firearms and dangerous weapons and he needs written permission to leave the state.
Wilmshurst says he kept the weapons for self-defense. He says he will appeal the decision within the 60-day limit.
