San Andreas, CA – The Calaveras County Animal Services (CCAS) is hoping the owner of a pig that has been at the shelter since mid-December will claim her.
Pictured in the image box, the sow was found near Bane Road, between Cox Drive and Dunn Road, east of Highway 26, and near New Hogan Lake in Valley Springs. She is currently not at the shelter, but her stray hold time ends on Thursday, January 8, 2026. Shelter officials made this plea to the public: “If you know who this lil lady belongs to, we would love to get them reunited ASAP.”
Proof of ownership is required. The shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. And as the CCAS welcomes in the new year, they share that many wonderful dogs and cats are waiting for loving homes.
“Please consider opening your heart and your home this year by adopting a shelter pet,” noted shelter officials, adding, “We also encourage everyone to make one of their New Year’s resolutions practicing safe and responsible pet ownership—keeping all animals secured, cared for, and loved. Thank you for supporting the animals in our community.”
