Sonora, CA — Sonora High School´s graduating class of 2005 will not be holding this year´s ceremony on a brand new artificial turf surface at Dunlavy Field.
Sonora High Principal Terry Clark says the project has been slowed down while the company in charge of the new field searches for a contractor. Clark says the company Field Turf Incorporated has four bidders for the job and hopes to have a contractor selected by early next week.
Despite hopes that the field would be finished by this year´s graduation date of May 26th, Clark says school officials decided it would be better to begin the project the day after graduation to eliminate any potential interference with the ceremonies.
Clark says the project should be completed by the first of July.
