Nurses Are Honored In The Mother Lode
Sonora, CA — School nurses in the Mother Lode are being honored today for California´s School Nurses Day.
The Department Of Education says that School Nurses play a vital role in schools and contribute substantially toward the health and well being of children.
Tuolumne County School Superintendent Joe Silva said that their nurse, Kate Earnharte, has done a great job with the students and with managing her time between all of the schools she serves.
Following a resolution passed by the School Board, goodies were given out to the staff to thank them for their hard work.They also enjoyed a cake to celebrate the accomplishments of Earnharte and the staff who help her do her job.
Earnharte said the need for nurses in the school has grown over the past few years and she hopes to get some more help in the near future.
State Superintendent Jack O´Connell has also extended his appreciation for the constant devotion and unwavering perseverance in helping children overcome personal challenges.
He says the commitment School Nurses show to the youth they serve is what public school systems need the most.
