Undated — Federal fire fighting agencies are concerned that crews and resources in California may be strained this year.
An unseasonably dry winter in the Pacific Northwest has officials predicting an unusually dangerous fire season in Oregon and Washington.
That presents the possibility that California crews will be called out of state to assist if needed.
Officials say it would take a particularly severe situation for that to happen, but the possibility does exist.
However officials say fire crews will not be called away from areas where fires are already burning.
