Fiddletown, CA — An Amador County farm owner is facing numerous charges after Sheriff´s deputies raided the farm and uncovered a major cock-fighting ring.

Authorities served a search warrant late Sunday morning at the farm of 53-year-old Richard Bohn of Fiddletown.

Police and animal control officers seized 58 roosters, six guns and thousands of dollars in cash. A total of 22 people were arrested for possession of fighting birds and cock-fighting weapons.

Officers say nearly thirty others fled into the surrounding hills who were later arrested as well. Four children on the farm were also turned over to Amador County Child protective services.

Authorities had been preparing for the raid for some time before the warrant was served.
