Winner Crowned In Miss Calaveras Scholarship Pageant

Angels Camp, CA — The winner of this year´s Miss Calaveras Scholarship Pageant has been crowned.

Calaveras High Senior Heather Herring took top honors in last night´s contest, edging out a total of 15 other contestants.

Bret Harte Senior Lydia Stafford was named first runner-up, as well as Miss Photogenic and Most Talented. Calaveras High Senior Kristina McBride took second runner-up honors.

The Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee runs through Sunday. Several frog-jumping events are scheduled for today among many other activities. Tonight´s live country music entertainment includes Fit 2 be Tied in concert followed by the Flying U Rodeo Wild West Show.

One of the many highlights of the fair will be Chris Cagle live at the grandstand tomorrow night.
