Arnold, CA — Federal forestry officials say they will hold off on a planned controlled burn in the Arnold area until after the holiday weekend.
The U.S. Forest Service had originally planned to burn about 500 acres along the north-western edge of the Highway 4 corridor near Avery and White Pines.
However officials with the Stanislaus National Forest decided to postpone the burn until after the holiday weekend. Officials say the conditions in the area are also very moist after an unusually wet winter and spring.
Officials haven´t said when the burn will actually take place.
