Turlock Couple Facing Charges Of Methamphetamine Possession
Sonora, CA — Two Turlock residents are facing drug charges after a traffic stop on highway 108 early Friday morning.
Lieutenant Mark Stinson of the Sonora Police Department says police pulled over a vehicle driven by 44-year-old Michael Sorensen near Stockton Road shortly after 12:30 for what appeared to be an improper registration sticker on the license plate.
The vehicle´s passenger was 49-year-old Diane Gallegos. Stinson says neither occupant had a valid drivers license and the vehicle had to be towed.
Stinson says during the pre-impound search on the vehicle, officers found a total of 9.5 grams of methamphetamine.
Sorensen and Gallegos were arrested and booked on felony charges of possessing methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia.
Sorenson was additionally charged with driving on a suspended license, while Gallegos was also charged with falsifying the car´s registration.
