Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — Several Sonora city officials will be receiving raises thanks to the Sonora City Council.

The council granted the pay increases Monday night at its regular meeting. City Administrator Greg Applegate will reportedly receive a 7.5% pay increase over the next 3 years.

A half-cent sales tax increase approved by voters last year will provide the city´s firefighters with a 7% pay increase as city officials ramp up firefighters´ wages to levels comparable with other local agencies.

Also in line for a pay hike are Community Development Director Ed Wyllie, Grants and Redevelopment Manager Rachelle Kellog and Finance Director Karen Stark, who all received three percent raises.

The raises will take effect July 2nd.
