Tuolumne County Supervisor In Treatment For Cancer
Sonora, CA — The seat representing district three has been noticeably empty at recent meetings of the Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors.
Supervisor Jim Peterson says he has missed the last two meetings because of health issues.
According to a letter written by Peterson to board Chairman Paolo Maffei, Peterson has been hospitalized in Sacramento while doctors look at what is apparently cancer that has developed near Peterson´s liver. He´s also undergoing treatment for several other health problems not related to the cancer.
Peterson says he has just started a four-week treatment plan which includes radiation for his liver. He also says he hopes to return to his duties as county supervisor “in the near future.”
In the meantime, Peterson is reportedly receiving documents from the board and staying in touch with board issues.
Peterson´s district covers Tuolumne, Twain Harte, Long Barn and Pinecrest.
