More Developments Promised In Terror Probe
Sacramento, CA — Authorities who arrested two Lodi men and detained three others this week in a terrorism probe say they have been investigating the Central Valley Pakistani community for years.
Authorities also expect more developments in the weeks ahead. F-B-I spokesman John Cauthen said yesterday the investigation was not triggered by an internal rift within Lodi´s Pakistani community, as some members had suggested.
There are about 2,500 Pakistanis in the agricultural region about 65 miles North/West of Sonora.
So far, the only firm terrorist connection alleged is that of 22-year-old Hamid Hayat, who was scheduled to appear in federal court later today for a bail hearing.
