Sonora Man To Stand Trial For Murder
Sonora, CA — A Tuolumne County Superior Court judge has ruled that there is enough evidence to try a Sonora man for murder.
Judge Douglas Boyak determined Friday that 34-year-old Thomas Brawand will stand trial for the murder of 57-year-old Richard Bray in early April.
At a preliminary hearing, a sheriff´s deputy told the court that two witnesses saw Brawand striking Bray several times as a group of people drank, and smoked marijuana and methamphetamine the night of the alleged murder.
Bray´s body was later found face down about 20 feet from his home on Fortuna Mine Road.
Brawand is being held without bail at the Tuolumne County jail. He is scheduled for arraignment June 27th.
