Father And Son Plead Not Guilty To Charges Related To Terrorist Camp

Sponsored by:

Sacramento, CA — A father and son from Lodi pleaded not guilty in Sacramento Tuesday to charges that they lied to authorities investigating links to Pakistani terrorist training camps connected to al-Qaida.

Hamid Hayat is charged with lying to the F-B-I earlier this month when he said he did not attend a terrorism camp in Pakistan in 2003 and 2004.

His father, Umer Hayat was indicted on a single count of lying to investigators when he denied that his son had attended such camps.

Neither man spoke during the brief hearing. Their pleas were entered by their attorneys as the two men sat cuffed and shackled.
