San Andreas, CA — CDF is reporting two wildfires in Calaveras County over the weekend.
The first blaze occurred shortly before 1:30 in the afternoon on Penn Mine Road. CDF says the fire consumed about 59 acres of brush, grass and oak trees estimated to be worth about $24,000.
Firefighters responded with 15 pieces of equipment, three inmate crews and three helicopters. The cause was determined to be from electrical utility lines.
About an hour later, CDF says another fire broke out on Ponderosa Way which destroyed an $18,000 piece of farm equipment which was eventually determined to be the cause. Eight units responded to the second fire.
No injuries were reported in either case.
