Accident On Highway 4 Causes Minor Injuries
San Andreas, CA– Two San Jose residents are recovering from minor injuries after their vehicle struck a tree and fell down an embankment in San Andreas Friday.
43-year-old John Fagundes Jr. was driving a 2001 Chevy Tahoe with passengers´ 28-year-old Kim Caldwell and two children; ages 12 and ten, East of Dorrington Frontage Road.
After driving at an excessive rate of speed around a left curve, the tires of the vehicle reportedly could not maintain traction on the icy road and began to fishtail and veered to the right.
Attempting to regain control, CHP officials say Fagundes turned his vehicle to the left. The vehicle began rotating counter-clockwise, crossed the roadway, and ran off the North road edge before descending the embankment.
The vehicle struck a tree before coming to a rest about 6 feet down the embankment. The two children were not injured.
