Suspect Nabbed While Napping
San Andreas, CA — A Valley Springs man in possession of a stolen vehicle was arrested Tuesday when he was found sleeping in the vehicle near a tow yard in San Andreas.
The Calaveras County Sheriff´s Department received a call about a suspicious vehicle parked outside the gate of the Sam Berry towing storage yard at the old airport.
There, deputies found 28-year old Eric Sosa of Valley Springs taking a nap in the driver´s seat of a green Ford Explorer with no license plate.
Sosa was less than responsive when the deputies tried to awake him. A search of the vehicle revealed burglary tools, several knives, metal knuckles, ammunition, and a methamphetamine pipe with a usable amount of methamphetamine in it.
Also, a check of the vehicle showed it was stolen from the Stockton area.
After he woke up, Sosa was arrested and booked into Calaveras County Jail where he is being held on $90,000 bail.
