Sheriff’s Department Continues Manhunt

Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County Sheriff´s Department is continuing its manhunt for Anthony Christopher Cuevas.

Since the inital issuance of the department´s Missing Person report, deputies have received at least two calls in which individuals have indicated they may have seen his white 1986 Nissan 4WD pickup with a white camper shell and a California license plate MINITUF.

One of the calls directed Sheriff´s deputies to an abandoned and stripped vehicle matching the above description in the Jack Rabbit Trail area off Cottonwood Rd. There was also a possible sighting of Cuevas September 21 in Groveland.

Cuevas is of Hispanic origin standing five feet eight inches tall and weighing 390 pounds.

The Sheriff´s Department has no indication of either criminal activity or suicide although neither have been dismissed. Cuevas reportedly left his family in Modesto, sold most of his belongings and was headed for an undetermined location.
