Grand Jury Weighs In On Contentious Fire Board

Jenny Lind, CA — The Foothill Fire District Board of Directors has been one of the most controversial local decision making bodies in recent memory.
Now the Calaveras County Grand Jury is weighing in on the issue.
The Jury was asked to investigate the dysfunctional and unproductive board meetings due to disruptions by members of the public.
After attending meetings over the last year, the jury issued a report saying that board members need to take back control of the meetings.
The Jury recommends that the board request a deputy sheriff be present at the meetings to control order.
