Flue Fires Hit Tuolumne And Calaveras Counties
Sonora, CA — Three flue fires hit the two county area Thursday evening.
In Tuolumne County, one flue fire caused as estimated $100,000 damage to a private residence on Yosemite Rd. in Tuolumne.
The other Tuolumne County flue fire occured at a private residence on Phoenix Lake Rd. That fire was contained to the fire place and the flue. No significant damage was reported by Tuolumne County-C.D.F. fire officials.
Tuolumne County Fire Marshall Kary Hubbard reminds Mother Lode residents to make sure their flues are inspected and cleaned before every winter season. Hubbard adds that only material designated for a pellet stove or other device should ever be burned.
The third fire was located in Calaveras County.
