Board Sets Policy On Tulloch Shores

Sponsored by:

San Andreas, CA — Land that lies beneath the waters of Lake Tulloch is developable. That was the decision that came down Monday from the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors.

A proposed project on the lake brought light to the issue after being continued indefinitely by the Planning Commission.

The majority of the Marina Villa Townhome project would have been built on submerged piers in the lake.

Project owner Merle Holman wrote to the board asking for its policy interpretation.

The board voted 3-2 to allow such development with Supervisors Steve Wilensky and Merita Callaway voting no.

Also, the board says, land that is owned beneath the water can count towards the allowable density on a parcel.
