County Will Maintain Ownership Of Streets In Columbia State Park
Sonora, Ca — After hearing numerous concerns from residents, the Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors voted to keep streets located inside the Columbia State Park in the possession of the county.
The question of whether to turn the streets over to the state came up due to liability concerns the county had with some aging elm trees along the road.
Over 10 residents addressed the Board, all of which indicated they would like to see ownership continue in the county. The Supervisors motioned and then voted 4 to 0 to keep the streets in the county´s possession.
The Board did agree to readdress the elm tree issue at a later date.
