Sacramento, CA — California Christmas tree growers have joined forces to donate 12,000 Christmas trees to troops this season.
According to the California Farm Bureau Federation, the Trees for Troops program gives trees from around the country to members of the armed services.
The program kicks off its second year this week and farmer participation is strong.
The federation says most of the California-grown trees will go to service families in the United States. A few will be shipped to the Middle East.
