State Officials Encourage Californians To Vote

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA– — As November 7th approaches, candidates and state officials have one question; how many California residents will head to the polls?

Friday, Secretary of State Bruce McPherson predicted 55 percent of the state´s registered voters will cast ballots in the coming General Election. He adds that of that 55 percent, 44 percent of the votes cast will be absentee ballot.

The latest registration figures compiled by Secretary McPherson´s office indicate 15,837,108 million voters are registered to vote for this election. In 2002, reports say 15,303,469 million California residents were registered to vote and that only 7,738,821 cast ballots.

McPherson says voting is the most precious right as citizens and that he is encouraging all eligible Californians to get involved in the democratic process.

Full election coverage can be heard live on November 7th on AM 1450 KVML from 8-11pm. Both coverage and results will be streamed live on MyMotherLode.Com
