Children Of The Mother Lode Already Collecting Halloween Treats
Sonora, CA– Many children in the Mother Lode are already filling up their buckets and bags with all kinds of sweets before Halloween.
Saturday, the Junction Shopping Center was filled with about 300 children dressed in costumes and ready to collect candy from the merchants in the shopping center.
Manager of the Junction Shopping Center, Margaret Davis, says this is the 22nd year the Halloween Costume Parade has been happening and that over 40 businesses distribute candy.
She says this event is a lot of fun for the kids as well as their parents and grandparents. Following the parade, a contest for the best costumes was held. The young winners left the parade with a gift certificate for $10-25 dollars.
