Sonora, CA– Halloween is one week away, and the California Highway Patrol would like to remind area parents to begin talking safety with children.
According to the Sonora Area Office, Halloween is the most dangerous day of the year for children to be out walking. Last Halloween in California, nearly half of all pedestrians killed and injured in collisions were children.
They are encouraging parents to remind children to obey basic safety rules. This includes walking on sidewalks, obeying traffic signals, and to wear costumes that are visible or have reflective tape.
