Habitat For Humanity Receives Check For $5,600
Sonora, CA– Funds keep rolling in for the Habitat for Humanity of Tuolumne County.
Friday morning a check was presented to Habitat in the amount of $5,600 after the Tuolumne County chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans held an Oktoberfest fundraiser. This is the second time the group selected Habitat for Humanity as the beneficiary of the proceeds.
Officials say the event raised $4,000 and Thrivent matched a portion of the proceeds with a contribution of $1,600. The Tuolumne County Chapter of Thrivent consists of Mountain Lutheran, St. Matthew, and Mount Calvary churches.
The total donations in the past two months from the churches and Thrivent came to $6,400. This includes an $800 check that Mountain Lutheran sent to Habitat in September. Officials say the money will be applied to the construction of the Habitat house currently being built in Ponderosa Hills.
