Calaveras Youth Dies In Horse Related Accident

Valley Springs, CA — A girl, a horse and a tragic accident in Calaveras County.
Morgan Thomas of Valley Springs was celebrating her 15th birthday Saturday when she was thrown from her horse around 10am near her home. The girl sustained a major head injury when she hit the ground after the horse tripped.
Thomas was flown by helicopter to the U.C. Davis Medical Center where she was pronounced dead at 2:30 Saturday afternoon.
