Citizens For Responsible Growth File Appeal To Lowe’s Decision
Sonora, CA — A decision by Judge James A. Boscoe on the proposed Lowe´s project has been appealed by the Citizens For Responsible Growth.
Although Boscoe´s August 21 decision found in favor of the City of Sonora and the developer, California Gold Corporation, Lisa Vaughn´s group continues to fight that decision citing environmental issues as the basis for its appeal.
Judge Boscoe stated in his decision that the petitioner failed to show either that the city committed a prejudicial abuse of discretion or failed to comply with Sonora Municipal Code Chapter 17.42.
California Gold´s Scot Patterson says his group is doing everything it can to begin construction which includes obtaining city permits in its continuing effort to break ground.
Although disappointed with the filing of the appeal, Patterson says California Gold will continue to push to have a Lowe´s Home Improvement Center located on the west side of Old Ward´s Ferry Rd. south of Sanguinetti Rd. Vaughn has been unavailable for comment.
