Sonora High Celebrates Homecoming

The streets were lined with well wishers and the sun was shining this afternoon in downtown Sonora for the Sonora High School Homecoming parade.

Members of the Sonora High School Golden Regiment Band led the parade down Washington Street with their traditional flare. Varsity and junior varsity Cheerleaders perched on top of a fire engine ladder truck waved at the crowd.

Each of the classes floats´ were themed and, after hours of hard work throughout the week , made their way down Washington Street. The Sonora High Varsity football team were noticably absent from the parade this year; they must be resting up for the homecoming game tonight against Mantica which is reported to be a ´good match´.

Football tonight kicks off at 7pm and will be a crowded event so if you want to get a good seat, go early. If you cannot make it to the game, Sonora High Football will be broadcast live on Star 92.7 this evening from 7pm and streamed live on MyMotherLode.Com. Just a reminder, traffic is conjested due to Homecoming festivities and motorists are advised to use caution in and around Sonora this afternoon and evening.
