Water District OKs Rate Hikes

Sponsored by:

San Andreas, CA — Customers wanting to hook into the Calaveras County Water District´s service will be paying much more beginning December 4.

Wednesday the district board approved a rate hike to their capacity charges and some special service charges.

The capacity charge in all service areas was $5,500. After the increase, Ebbetts Pass customers, for example, will be paying $10,280.

Larry Diamond with the district says the capacity charge fee will pay for expansion of water and wastewater facilities. The other special service charges will go towards covering administrative costs of making the physical connection.

The new rates will take effect December 4.
