Supervisors Keep A Busy Tuesday Schedule
Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors unanimously declared a local state of emergency today due to the staffing crisis in the Sheriff´s Department.
Jail personnel will now be available for courtroom security duty serving as bailiffs.
In addition the county will join with Calaveras County in officially protesting the applications of the Stockton East Water District to extract water from the Stanislaus River. Protest letters will be addressed to the State Water Resources Control Board.
The Board also approved of taking action against the California Medical Assistance Commission for failure to release records under the Public Records Act related to the Medi-Cal Distressed Hospital Funding Grant.
Prior to the lunch break, the Board also approved the addition of a full-time assistant for the County Library.
