Montori Family Loses Cabin To Fire

Sponsored by:

Strawberry, CA — The 1,200 square foot Tanager Drive cabin that was completely lost to fire earlier today had been owned by the Rich Montori family of Pacific Grove, CA since 1954.

Cause of the fire remains under investigation. C.D.F. officials estimate the cabin´s value at $175,000 with an additional $25,000 for personal belongings.

Responding to the fire were units from the C.D.F.-Tuolumne County Fire Department, the Twain Harte Fire Protection District and the U.S. Forest Service. In addition, privately owned Sierra Water Shuttle, on the way to the Clark Fork fire, surrendered its water supply in an effort to extinguish the blaze.

There were no injuries except for a firefighter who suffered a bee sting. Some scorching damage was suffered by a nearby home.
