West Point, CA — The health and wellness of the West Point community were the topic of discussion at the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors meeting Monday.
The Blue Mountain Coalition for Youth presented to the board its recently completed survey, which canvassed 280 homes in the area.
The top health conditions were tobacco use, vision care, arthritis, and dental health.
Some community needs that were identified include a dental clinic, park, more public transportation and low-income housing and legal assistance.
The coalition is a non-profit center for kids and families. Coalition Director Mark Dyken says he is looking for the county to become a partner in improving the area´s health.
